orange sea star

I was surprised with an orange sea star for valentines day. This is my first invertabrate. I was reading about it and all my water parameters seem to be correct for it but i was just wondering if there is anything special i should do for it. and is it common for a star fish to stay in one spot for a very long time without moving?

Is it a lynkia star you talking about?

if not try Echinaster sp. do a search on google images and see if you find a likeness.

If it is a linkia, my blue linka did not move more than an in for about a week after i put him in

An orange star is more likely a Fromia species starfish. Google "fromia starfish" or somethign similar and try to match it.
