I just got this goby today, do anybody have this fish? do they are easy to keep? Just start to eat brine shrimp right away. but i would like to know if they are hardy. Thanks in advance...

The Diamond Watchman Goby is also commonly referred to as the Pretty Prawn, Maiden, Orange Spotted Diamond, Orange-dashed, or Orangespotted Sleeper Goby. It was first discovered in the Indo-Pacific Ocean in 1956 by Tomiyama. The head and body are white with orange spots. It is a very timid fish that makes a great addition to the reef tank because of its longevity.
It should be housed in a 50 gallon or larger aquarium with live sand as the substrate, and an attached populated refugium. The Diamond Watchman Goby uses shallow burrows in the substrate as refuge, keeping the substrate well oxygenated. It rarely becomes aggressive towards other fish, but is territorial, and will fight with its own kind unless they are a mated pair.
The Diamond Watchman Goby feeds off the bottom as it sifts through the sand. Its diet should include a variety of live and frozen brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, live black worms, and prepared foods for carnivores. It should be fed frequently.

thanks buddy, thats what im doing right now looking through the web, but i would like to hear from somebody that have 1. Thanks for your effort.

Can't say from experience if they are hardy or not, except in one respect - I dropped mine bag-and-all on the carpet before I acclimated it, and then had no choice but to just plop it in the tank. It survived that shock, so far.

Anyway, 9 days later, the blizzard of fine detritus that was trapped in my sand bed and stirred up by the little bulldozer is finally about filtered out. He has just started to pluck mysis out of the water column, which is a good thing as my tank is too small to sustain this fish through the sand bed (don't ask...I thought I was buying a different fish
) He has also dug at least two escape tunnels that he uses occasionally when my flame angel is feeling moody. A great fish to watch! Keep us posted on how yours is doing - it will be great if it starts to take other, more nutritional foods.

Thanks iwishtofish and rivank i will post the progress, so far he is eating pellets and brine shrimp. I like this fish man, hope to susrvive in my tank.
