Id like to know the conditions that the goniopora (this specific goniopora, please do not be general) part of my order was maintained in (water flow and light). I put my goniopora in a moderate light and moderate flow but it has not opened up.
Thanks

PaxRoma,

Thank you for your inquiry. We would be happy to check into the exact conditions that your Goniopora coral was kept in while it was at our Aquaculture Coral and Marine Life Facility. We will post this information here as soon as it becomes available.

PaxRoma,

Thank you for your patience while we checked with our Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life Facility on the exact water conditions your Goniopora sp. was kept in. It was kept under one 400 watt 20,000K bulb on a light rail. All of the corals are kept 24 inches from the light fixture and 31 inches from the bulb. The water flow would be considered medium to low. We have provided the results of the water testing below.

PH: 8.1-8.3.
Calcium: 420-450
Magnesium: 1300 -1350
Nitrate: 0
Phosphate: .02-.04
Specific Gravity: 1.026

I regret to report that the goniopora has died (white skeleton in the picture). It is placed in the same level of flow and light as the other goniopora (pictured to the right) that has been in the tank for more than 6 months that is doing very well.. :(
