Orlando

So I'm going to Orlando this weekend for a short vacation with the wife (and no kids! ). Are there any recommendations for stores that can't be missed?

I was disappointed by WWC. I do recommend stormborne reef in Debary. It's a little bit out of the city but Steve is top notch.

Check out the Orlando club page here it has a list but definitely stormborn if you can get out that way and if your there you gotta hit wwc just to say you have been there

WWC does have some insane display tanks. I was not impressed with the store or the selection tho. Ma ybe I was there at a bad time. I don't know but it wasn't my cup of tea. Go see it say youve done it. Ive ran into people in other states that treat thst place like ita a holy mecca of sorts and i almost get celebrity status by having been. Lol. Sea in the city is really nice. She never gets much mention after her falling out with ORCA, clean store, great selection. Exotic fish and reef imports smaller store, interesting selection and very fair pricing on some of the higher end stuff. 2 300g displays and an 800g display that hopefully they've started stocking. They went out of there way to make sure I got taken care of and stood behind their product. Top shelf always has a some great stuff. It is a bit north but I honestly make a point to plan a trip around Stormborn. One of the absolute cleanest nicest stores I've ever seen. Very nice selection, they try to make a point to get the more unique and rare prices in and still have very fair pricing. No crazy display tanks but the coral tanks make up for that. Steve and Sarah are some some of the nicest, down to earth knowledgeable people I have encountered in an lfs.

I live in Orlando and I agree with most of what's been posted. Stormborn is my favorite store, mainly due to the owners being very easy to talk to. WWC is expensive, but I'd say go just to see the display thanks. Best I've ever seen. Top Shelf and Living Reef are both very good but neither have display tanks like WWC

I make it over there once in a while, and try to visit the shops. WWC is a destination, no doubt--the display tanks alone are an experience. Sea in the City is a personal favorite, just based on the feel of the place.

that said, there are plenty of LFS here in Tampa Bay--better to patronize local businesses when possible.

So I ended up just visiting 2 stores, WWC and Sea in the City. WWC has some AMAZING specimens on display, pricey on some things not so much on others. I was a little disappointed in the size of the shop but the displays and rare corals more than made up for it. My Wife and I were there for other things so I didn't buy anything. I WILL be over there again for my Daughters' Cheer competition which just so happens to fall on the same weekend as CoralCon so I am pretty excited about that.

After driving home Sunday I stopped into Creative Aquariums and bought a few things from them. We are lucky to have some great shops here in our area.

Sea in the City and Top Shelf are our two favorites. Very helpful staff, super clean tanks, great selection and they both have really good sales on a regular basis.
