ORP Value

Is it possible to have an ORP value of 460. My ORP ran in the three hundreds pretty consistently, until about a month ago, now it never drops below 420. Do I need to recalibrate?
Thanks

ORP is a relative reading and yes it is possible to get a reading so high especially when the probe needs to be cleaned. Unless you are running O3 there is really no reason to calibrate the probe as the quality of the water in this case is more of the change in ORP vs the reading itself. If the reading stays high, good health but if you notice a sudden drop in the reading that could be an indication of something going bad.

Unless you are running O3 it is not possible to get a ORP sufficiently high enough to harm anything.

Also, watch the general pattern. ORP moves opposite of pH. Look at both in a graph and you should see the trend. As pH increases during the day, ORP decreases and vice versa at night. If the ORP is staying steady, then I would suspect a bad or dirty probe.

Thanks, Swearint.
Yes my ORP and PH move in opposite directions. I don't have much alge, but do you think I should clean the probe anyway?

It might help. The one time I cleaned mine in vinegar it dropped way low and took awhile to reset. Just like when installing a new probe.
