I need some skimmer help

lol if I knew the brand I could find a guide its square looks like a bakpak but its dark not clear like them any ideas

aquaC remora? all plexi.. has a square collection cup with a rubber o-ring so you can adjust it up and down? has an external needle wheel type pump?

no not those looks like a book and looks like a bakpak just isnt clear unless they had some that wasnt

CPR. my brother had one just like that. couldnt tell you the model but it is a CPR from the style of the return to the tank.

they used to make them in a smoke now they are clear.

this one has a maxijet with Im guessing the need for a air pump unless we can figure out a quick n dirty needle wheel mod as this thing is loud feeding it air lol

as soon as I googled "cpr skimmer" I got several video hits on them.

I am doing it right correct its gotta get the air bubbles from somewhere and the lil hose for the air control valve has water coming out of it as well since its underwater Im guessing

I thought they came with RIO pumps. yes they were needlewheels. i have a CPR fuge skimmer and it has an off brand needlewheel. needlewheels do make a good sucking sound. they need a good silencer. the ones used on the Coralife superskimmers are really good silencers.

so you are getting water back out of the air hose? does it connect on the inlet or the outlet of the pump? for a needlewheel to work properly, the airhose is connected to the inlet of the pump so it chops up the air in the impeller.

well, my needlewheel pump has the inlet for hte air in the discharge on the pump. dont make a whole lot of sense.

try this, take the pump out of the water and look down the discharge. can you see the angle cut on the inlet for hte air? if not, try to rotate it a bit. on mine you can see that the end of it is slicked at an angle. if it is turned where you cannot see this, it will blow water out cause there is no vacuum created by the water.

the power head says AP1500 The air control valve on the outlet side is what I am speaking of that flows water I have a small airpump shooting air in and damn is it loud lol
