HI Everyone,

I am new to the hobby (I have been involved with it for many years with my father though). I am excited to get the system all up and running!

I set out on my hunt for a tank that I knew was going to be a pain in the A$$ to find. Its the Osaka 320 kit from Fluval. I had fallen in love with this set up the moment I saw it.. the curved front corners and the super sleek stand, I was sold! lol

After months of searching I finally found one within driving distance. I had to go from Toronto to Windsor to get this thing but in the end.. it was worth it :)

Lets just start by saying the tank was let go by the previous owners.. they did not want to be in the hobby anymore and I was glad to take it off their hands!

Here is a pic from the add they had for sale..as you can see... terrible condition inside.. (Poor clownfish )

And here it is emptied and in my basement.. just crying to be cleaned!

After hours and hours and hours.. actually turned out to be DAYS! of cleaning. She was finally getting there. Here is the tank after the extreme cleaning and a bit of water in it.

To be continued! I will post more of the process with Pics

I loved the open top look but I really hated the consistent refilling of water so I had a custom top created. Super simple as I was trying to keep with the clean lines of the tank.

Next up was the back.... what color.. hrmmmmm. I decided to go with black. I used black vinyl for it, and I think it came out pretty good!

I chose to go with Aragonite sand in my tank and I love the look. Here is where I stand about 3 weeks after setting this all up.

I had a lot of live rock to work with and I really wanted something simple and unique. I really liked how its turned out.

I will post some more pics of the progress. I currently have a little blue damsel in the tank with some Mexican turbo snails and some blue legged crabs.

Thanks for taking a look at my build! Ill keep updating this as I start adding more fish and coral.
