I have a pair of oscellaris clowns....is it possible to put another kind of clown in with them?

How big is your tank? It is rare to have more than a single pair work out long term ( over one year) in a tank smaller than 180 gallons, and it's risky even in a 180.

I agree. I have seen some hobbyist pull it off, by adding them at the same time. "what works for someone else may not work for you". Just keep that in mind.

+1 How big is your tank? And what other kind of clown did you want to add?
I keep two pair in my 300 gallon but they are some of the more peaceful clowns so it depends on how much real estate you have to devote and what you're thinking. Were you thinking of one of the more aggressive types I would think no regardless of tank size.

Depending on how big your tank is, another thing that might work for long term success would be if you could also keep to nems to host each pair. That way they could each have their own territory.

What about having a pair of mixed clowns? I'm really really really really digging the saddlebacks, and i'm definitely getting at least one of those. But what if i hit the lotto and or the IRS wakes up on the right side of the bed one day, can i get a gold nugget clown too? Would that give me a chance of breeding awesome golden saddleback clowns :D

I'm in the process of starting a 45G JBJ.
