Osmolator 3155 pump failing

Any idea what I can do? I have had it for about a year or less. The yellow pump light is blinking on and off. I have disconnected the power a few times to see if it will re-set and that is not it. Do these pumps need to be cleaned? How do you clean them?

I would double check that the screw connector for the pump is free of corrosion and salt crust, the added resistance or a short caused by salt or water can cause this. You can test the pump itself by touching the pump wires (blue and brown bare wires of the pump to a 9V battery. Polarity does not matter, if the pump does not run we can be sure it is dead and the cause of the problem, if it runs, it is a grey area, it may work but need more power than the controller will allow as it is failing. Unless the pump is used with kalkwasser or an additive it should not need cleaning and cannot be opened or serviced. If it was used with kalk or a similar calcium supplement, it may lock up and a vinegar soak may help.

I did the battery test and the pump did kick in but was not getting water to the tank. It was really straining. I did cut the tubing down by about 4 ft and blew out the water that was in it and now it is working but making a lot of noise. I am guessing this pump will fail in the next few months. Thanks for the help.

Keep me posted, it is possible some small piece of debris was lodged in it and will work itself out and quiet down, I have had this happen before on my own osmo pump.

The auto top worked fine for about a week and now it is failing again. The yellow pump light is blinking. Any thoughts?

The pump is 9 months old, can you tell how I can get a new one? I assume there is a good web site to purchase it?

If the pump is 9 months old, but the controller is 3+ years old, I would worry something may be going wrong with the controller, but if the whole unit is 9 months old, just the pump should be the issue. Please let me know, it may be best if the controller is old that it be sent in with the pump for testing. The warranty is 2 years, if it is a newer unit.

Yes, provided their is no water damage to electronics it is warranty. I will PM you some info.
