Osmaolator pump ran dry in the bucket and the RED alarm LED went on, but I noticed there was no auidible alarm. Is there not supposed to be a audible alarm ?
The default is for there to be only an alarm when the too high float is raised. There is a jumper in the controller that you can set for no alarm, high water only alarm and alarm for run dry and high water.
Definitely no audible alarm, tried both jumper settings 1 and 2 and kept the float at a high level (high LED) and then the sensor above water level (low level) for 15 min at each test. No audible alarm in either case. No water damage inside the controller. Will pull out the DVM and see if there is any voltage getting to the piezo.
So you don't get any alarm in any scenario? Yes, I would tend to agree the little piezo speaker is bad. The other possibility is the piezos come from the manufacturer with a sticker over the opening and the sound is very mute if the sticker is not removed. I have seen some boards with the sticker still intact.
