Osmolator failure?

Hi,
I've had the Osmolator for about three months and it has worked fine until today - suddenly the controller does not turn on the yellow LED or start the refill pump as the level gets low. The overfull warning alarm (and red LED) works fine, as does the green normal level indicator. There was no indication of an impending failure; i.e., the pump has come on periodically and refilled the aquarium (a 28g JBJ Nanocube) exactly as expected. Not sure what to do next.

Roger is on his way to Atlanta for MACNA and will be checking the forums as much as he can. He is will be the person you will need to talk to about this issue, please be patient with us during this time. I apologize for not being of more help but Roger knows exactly what to do.

You might first try soaking the optic sensor in vinegar, a common culprit is mineral film, especially from kalkwasser. If that doesn't fix it send it in and we will replace the defective component. Soak it for a few hours and do not scrub, use only a soft cloth to wipe it. Scratches will ruin the sensor.

I've found that the level sensor seems to work fine, it just never activates the pump - looks like a failure in the controller electronics box (relay?). Do I need an RMA, do I need to ship the power supply and pump also, or just the sensors/controller box part, and where do I send it to? I'd like a quick turn-around as the lack of a level controller on my nano-reef is causing problems with my skimmer and refugium pump (level drops and both stop working until I manually refill). thanks

Send it in, I will be back to work tomorrow, include the pump. Typical turnaround is 24hrs after receipt plus UPS ground transit time back to you.
