Osmolator modification

Is it possible to connect the osmolator directly to Ro/Di reservoir with a selenoid valve instead of the pump.I want to do that because i have a problem of water stagnation in my pump reservoir and by the way i will regain some space in my tank cabinet.

It is not recommended and would not likely work. If the solenoid fails and they often do, your house and tank would be flooded. The osmolator would only allow the solenoid to be open 10 minutes which is not enough time in many cases and the water quality would be poor as the salts removed by reverse osmosis would diffuse back across the membrane during the off cycle. I personally had a solenoid jam with a small amount of sand from our municipal water and fail. I spent thanksgiving weekend repairing my wood floor, never rely on a solenoid valve. My new set up will have an emergency overflow drain. I use the 8555 to top off my reservoir and the 3155 osmolator to top off the tank from the reservoir. My problem was I did not follow the instructions which specify having the drain on the reservoir in case the solenoid fails.

I understand but the solenoid would be between my ro/di 2 gallons reservoir and the tank .Now the pump reservoir is a small 5 gallons tank who is fill automaticly by a little float coming from my ro/di 2 gallons. The problem i have with my system is that the water turn-over is to slow .There is some stagnation in the 5 gallons and some risk of bacteria,algea...Do you have an other idea?I want a system that i don't need to pour some water in the reservoir each day.

I don't think the bacteria and algae would survive the shock of going from freshwater to saltwater and pure RO/DI should not have much potential to culture bacteria or algae. You could add the 8555. This would turn on when the reservoir was empty, let the RO unit run until it was full or until 12/24 hrs has passed (user setting). It is complete with a solenoid but you must install the solenoid after the RO to avoid debris jamming the valve and provide an emergency drain.
