Just purchased a brand new unit from Marine Depot. Every time I check the tank after getting home from work the water level is low. I unplug and plug the unit back in it fills it up. Not sure what the problem is?

How big is the tank? Most common issue is the safety timer was not set correctly, pages 21-29 explain this feature. Out of the box it is set for up to 25 gallons, 25-55 is an optional setting, it won't work reliably on any volume over 55 gallons.

One possibility would be the unit was started at a low water level, 1 min 48 seconds equals only about 1/3rd gallon. If you start it with the float raised or nearly raised it should then work.

Another possibility is that with the winter weather, heaters running, etc, the evaporation is very high, the 3 min setting will then solve it.

The last possibility is a faulty pump, a faulty pump will generally not run more than 30 seconds before it shuts down as it triggers an overload safety.
