Osmolator Nano works intermittently

My new Osmolator 3152 works intermittently. When I notice that the water level is low I will unplug/plug it in and it will turn on until it is at the correct level. How common is this? What options are there?

Thanks

have you tried cleaning the sensor? I noticed after awhile that salt build up accumulates over time. Use warm soapy water and a toothbrush to clean it. Than dry the sensor and put it back in the tank. Hope this helps you.

Thanks! It's new and there is nothing interfering with the switch since its mechanical). The last Tunze product I had was the old style Osmolator with the optic sensor....that always worked perfectly....perhaps the change wasn't for an increase in performance...

See pages 22-29 of the manual, since the nano osmolator has only a float, it has a timer as a safety, you are exceeding the timer limit so it is shutting down, the only way to rest the timer is to unplug it and plug it back in. If the tank is 25 gallons or less, the default 1.8 minute timer is fine, 25-55 gallons, you need to follow the instructions to extend it to 3 minutes, bigger than 55 and it is not likely to work. The timer resets to zero provided the float is raised before the time runs out.
