Osmolator not working

My osmolator is 3 weeks old and has not worked reliably.
At first it would not turn off till the backup float valve stopped it.
I cleaned the optical sensor in vinegar and it began to function accurately.
I then noticed when I turned off my main pump and the sump level rose, the float valve didn't beep when it was submerged. Green light stayed on.
I just started to turn it on and off with controller so I could watch it fill without chance of it flooding. It would fill it precisely but float valve would not alarm even if I manually tried to trigger it.
Now it won't work at all. When turned on all lights flash with beep and then pump runs for a millisecond and turns off. Cycle repeats ~5 seconds without pumping any water. The pump is submerged, no Kalk etc. I tried shaking the pump, laying it on it's side- without any success. After a few hours, it may work but every other day it stops functioning.
Again the system is 3 weeks old and the controller has not gotten wet.
I am beyond frustrated. Does my unit sound defective or is this something that can be corrected.
It works one day then just beeps the next.:headwally:

I just got one of these and I had similar issues. I contacted tunze and they sent a new unit. I would email tunze directly.

If you are in the US, I am the correct person to contact. We can exchange the controller. Be aware that the controller is fairly sensitive to interference from electromagnetic fields and wireless devices. If the controller is near a wireless device or strong electromagnetic field (usually intermittent problems coincide with a wireless device or light ballast turning on) the problem may be solved just by moving the controller and trying a different outlet. The float not working generally points to a magnetic field issue as the float is a magnetic switch, the black ring in the float is a magnet which actuates a reed switch in the post. If it is installed incorrectly in the magnet holder, this alone can prevent it from operating. It should be in the larger C shaped clip and the bottom of the inside and outside magnets should line up and no other magnetic fields should be near the float.

Thanks for the input.
I will double check the float valve position. I am sure I put it on correctly because the optical sensor could only go on one way on the same holder but I will check. My light ballast is ~4 feet away but I will try to move it further. I do have a wireless phone docked ~ 3 feet away- will move far away. Thanks again. I am in FL but hopefully it will work.

Keep me posted on the result, the phone is not a very likely culprit, but the ballast is.

I moved the controller away from the ballast and tried it. Same beeping with all lights on that repeats after 2 secs. I unplugged it again, got my camera to tape it and it seems to be working again. I will keep it away and hope it cont to function.
After the controller began working, I examined the float valve. It still did not beep when manually raised. I then removed the magnet and flipped it over without moving the sensors. It started to work again. My magnet must have been not positioned properly. That is now working as well.

THanks, hopefully no more beeping for me.

The osmolator is not working again. Have unplugged and moved the ballast, still just beeping. It has two different error beeps. One where all lights flash and beep when the unit turns on then green light then after 4 seconds yellow turns on with pump for a fraction of a second without pumping and the unit turns off and restarts/repeats.
Sometimes it just has all lights flash and beep and repeat every 2 seconds without the pump doing anything.
Sometimes it just works but not at all today.
I think I will need an exchange

I tried to send a message but I am not allowed till 10 posts.
Thanks for your help
