Osmolator power supply

I got my osmolator, over here in england, in january. I have been using it for top up for my 100 gal tank. And it has worked perfectly for me. I think its a great bit of kit :)

But the problem i have is i have just moved into a 220gal tank, and i had the osmolator going and working fine. Then overnight, it must of stopped working, as in the morning the water level was low in the sump. This is from the power supply not working. I have turned the plug on and off a few times but the red light on the power supply just doesnt seem to work.

Is there anything i can do?

Or should i contact the dealer i got it from, the only problem is i have lost the receipt :(, so dont know what they will say etc.

Thanx

In general they only fail if they get wet. Are you sure the outlet works? Don't all British appliances have a fuse- you may check that, even though I was told by some Germans that the fuse takes so much to burn out that it is not to useful. Otherwise, you could try the route of going to the shop but perhaps you could just pick one up at an electronics store- around here they are $9.

i am sure it hasnt got wet as when i moved house it was all put in a fish bag to stop it getting wet, and has worked for 3-4 days on the new tank. i am not sure about the fuse but i will take the back plate off today to see if it has one.

if i cant fix it i will speak to the supplier and see what they say, as i may be able to pick one up at a electrical store. but i dont really want to pay as surely this is a manufacturing fault and not mine so should come under the warranty?

thanx for the help roger.

ps. i love the work youve done on the new multicontroller, it looks sweet, especially with the new light :)

It should be warranty. I would suspect based on what you told me the rectifier burned out.
