osmolator problem

I received a new osmolator setup this week and just set it up. It powered up initially and worked but I then noticed that it had no power after about 10 minutes. I was able to diagnose the power problem with putting some sideways pressure on the power plug. The unit will then power right up, but as soon as let go it powers off again.

Is there an easy fix for this? I purchased through amazon prime so a replacement will be simple but figured I ask first...

Thanks
Mike

The most probable is that at some point the power supply tip landed in some saltwater, this is common as people unplug them to do some tank maintenance and it lands in a puddle or sump and the DC current combined with saltwater reverses the plating process on the cathode (+ inner tip) so the plating is stripped and corroded. This happens almost instantly if the power supply is plugged into the wall and the tip lands in saltwater. The only other culprits I have seen have been not plugging it in fully or rarely that the board is somewhat recessed or not completely lined up, it can be realigned with the opening in the hole of the casing by just opening it up (their are user settings inside so you can open it) loosening the two screws which secure the board and moving it slightly so it lines up with the opening in the case for the plug.
