I got home from work today to hear my wife complaining about the alarm on my top off beeping constantly. she unplugged it till I got home and when I plugged it back in it continued. its a new beep i havent heard before, it beeps on and off unless i pick up the float and then its all the time. it doesnt seem to pump water when i plug it in as it did before. I also found that if I disconnect the pump from controller it only beeps the one time when I plug it in and all the level switches seem to be functioning when I add or remove water from sump to change level (according to the lights). I was going to try and clean the pump but cant figure out how to get it apart, any ideas?

The pump does not open, it is generally just replaced, they tend to last 2-3 years, about half that if used in kalkwasser. How old is it?

I'd guess about 1 1/2 years or so, I'd have to check with store to find out for sure. Only ever used in RO for top off. Do I have to replace the whole unit(controller and everything)? or are there replacement parts available?

All spare parts are available, the pump is a common part, our part number 5000.020, it is available from BRS, Premium, Champion, Marine Depot, Amazon, really just about every dealer we have and you can also order it direct on Tunze.com, they run about $23. If it is less than 2 years old, it would be a warranty issue.

We don't make throw away stuff, so you can get any part of it down the road, we make things so they can be repaired and last, but sometimes repair is not worthwhile and in that case we discount a replacement.

cool, ty for the response. I'll stop by store on way home from work to check on date of purchase. otherwise Ill see if he can order one for me. 23.00 is not to bad for as good of a product it is and as helpful as it has been.
