I just found out that my osmolator pump stop working yesterday. I unplug and plug it back in several time but its still wont' work (motor of pump does not run anymore) .I bought the osmolator 6 months ago. Is it still under waranty? if so how do I get another one? If not how do I get a replace pump? Please advise

Thanks

It is still under warranty provided the pump was not used for kalk. To be sure the pump is dead and it is not a connection problem (water or corrosion at the pump connector) please try the following. Remove the pump wires from the European screw connector and touch the two wires to the output of a common 9V battery. If it works, it is the connection that is bad, if it doesn't it is the pump. If it is the pump, send it in and we will replace it.

I just tested with the 9v and it work fine. I see no water or corrosion at the connector. But when I connect it the first time I made sure I used electrical tape. how can it get corrosion at that area?

Anyways thanks for you help. I'm glad it wasn't the pump. You are a genius

What typically happens is the connector sits on the floor of the stand and wicks in water from spills, the wires act like a wick and turn black inside and have a very high resistance. The connector may or may not show physical corrosion, up until early this year we used a steel connector that would rust, we changed to a brass connector to prevent this. If you don't see any obvious signs it is probably best to send in the controller with the pump and power supply for testing and repair.

Hi Roger, I though I had the problem fix but now is not working again. I'm going to have to send it in. Can you please give me info on how to send it in? And what you need me to send? Thanks

Send in the controller, pump and power supply along with anote describing the issue and your return address and phone number.

I am having a similar problem with a 2 month old ATO that is used only for a fresh water tank. Anything else I might try before sending in. Don't believe it's ever gotten wet.
I have a second one in mt reef system and works perfectly.

Thanks,

Andy

I rewire it again. And it works fine for another week and it stop working again. I would just send it in. I would do the same if I was in your shoe.

Check that the connector for the pump has no corrosion, this connector can be the problem if corroded or covered in salt creep.
