osmolator pump warrranty?

just wondering if warranty covers a replacement pump for my less-than-1-year-old tunze osmolator. it's never ran dry during that duration... just seems a little strange to me that it would crap out in that time.
thanks

Yes, as long as it wasn't used in kalk, it can run dry though. The main problem is, a non working pump is often actually a controller problem. Especially if the pump starts for a brief time and then slows to a stop.

thanks for the reply roger-
it was not run in kalk and i'm looking for the receipt now... as far as i know it never had the problem you're speaking of. it was working perfectly well last night and no-go this morning. can you send me your contact info and hopefully we can get this figured out by tomorrow.
thanks!

Give me a call when you are near the controller so we can walk through some things. 512-833-7546. I am here until 5:30C.

Roger,

I am having trouble with my osmolator controller too. The controller is sounding an audible alarm and signaling the water level is too high. That is not the case. Any thoughts about what I can do to fix this? The controller is about 20 months old.

Karen

The usual cause of this is either that the controller got wet or is being affected by a magnetic or electromagnetic field near the controller or float. Did you add any new ballasts, pumps or magnetic holder/cleaners? Do you know if the controller may have gotten wet?

Roger,

Sorry about the delay in responding. The controller definitely didn't get wet. It is mounted on a wall. As for electrical interference - nothing new added but the night before I had the problem we had a power outage that lasted an hour or so.

Could that have caused the problem?

Karen

Maybe, but not likely, it is probably best to send in the controller and I will check it out and if it is less than 2 years old it would be repaired or replaced under warranty so long as it didn't get wet.
