Osmolator pump

I have recently purchased the Osmolator, as well as a GEO kalkwasser reactor. I have come across a thread, now that I have both, that the supplied osmolator pump is not powerful enough to withstand driving water through the reactor, and will prematurely burn up. If this happens, what are my options? Is there any way to hook the osmolator to some other, more powerful pump, or to a peristaltic pump?

I am not sure, I have heard from several people who use them with MRC reactors without much trouble. So long as kalk stays out of the pump I don't see a big issue. The pumps are cheap so you could probably buy a half dozen of them for the amount it costs to upgrade. To upgrade you need the pump of your choice and switched socket 3150.11 which costs about $55.
