Osmolator Questions

I'm thinking about getting an Osmolator for my 26 gal. tank, but I don't have room for the Tunze storage container. Can I use my own container instead? I'm using a 2-1/2 gallon F-jug (the kind that antifreeze comes in--but don't worry, it's not an antifreeze jug!). Are there any requirements of the reservoir, such as neck size for the pump?

Also, I'm interested in the Calcium Dispenser, but I'm wondering if it's overkill for my little 26. Is it possible to introduce too much Kalkwasser into my tank via this device? I'm currently using about 1 gallon per day of topoff water. Also, can the dispenser be located outside of my water jug and connected via vinyl tubing?

Thanks!

The only problem will be the calcium dispenser which has to go inside the reservoir, you probably could find a narrow reservoir with an opening of about 6" that is about 16" tall and fit the dispenser inside. You can use whatever you want.

Thanks, Roger!

If I can't find a reservoir with the right dimensions (I've looked all over, and I don't expect to find one), I'll end up getting the Tunze reservoir.

Best regards,
T./
