osmolator?

The green light on my osmolator has started blinking intermittently, as if it is not getting constant power. It still seems to be getting the job done but nerve racking. This is the same problem that I had with my original osmolator(3 years old). On the old one it happened about a week before a vacation so I just purchased this new one as I did not have time to deal with the problem. The new one is about a year old and I do not see any corrosion on the connector. the unit is on a table so the connector is not being pulled out by gravity. What could be the problem? I fail to beleive the life span is only one year. Thanks for the help.

Older osmolators may blink normally, the earlier units did not have a built in time delay before the pump kicked on and fill began. Your water level is probably right at the sensor and varying a little due to the current in the tank or sump and as the water level dips it gets ready to kick on the pump and switch to too low. On the new one this would not be normal as it should require approx 8 seconds of too low reading to switch LED's and turn on the pump. It is possible it is the power supply. When you changed the Osmolator did you change to the new power supply that was included?

I did change to the new power supply. It seems to be intermittant (tonight not blinking) and the unit is working just gets me nervous. the unit is a year old not sure what earlier means.

The delay was added about 2 years ago, I would just watch it, it has two other levels of safety. The main purpose of the delay was to prevent the pump from cycling on and off due to minor turbulence on the waters surface if only the LED is cycling I wouldn't be overly concerned.

Thanks for the help. I will watch it although the thing that makes me nervous is the pump not being switched on to top off . I beleive the additional safety features are for over pumping.

Let me research this more, the two I have at home are all older so they don't have the time delay and I need to try out a new one and see if they blink like the old ones did.
