Hi all,

I have a 37" westinghouse 1080p lcd for sale. It has hdmi and dvi inputs among others, plenty of inputs on the sides. Its hdcp compliant (handshakes with copy protected devices like blu-ray players). It is a monitor/hdtv, and has PiP (picture in picture) and split screen. It has no tv tuner so you have to use a cable or satellite box's hdmi out, dvi out, or component out to the lcd. It also works great with computers and high def consoles connected to it.

I've had it for a few years... I think 2.. I could check to be exact. Its pretty thin and can be wall mounted if you buy a bracket for it. Its not a rear projection so has no projector bulb to replace. Its like a giant computer monitor and hdtv. It does take 3 to 5 mins to warm up the big LCD screen. The screen will freeze a little until its warmed up. Its always been like that since day 1 out of the box though, its not anything deteriorating or anything like that.

I used to use it as my computer monitor on a stand set back about 3.5'. It works great connected to a computer - the text is really crisp. You can also run hdtv or other source in the PiP while using the computer. I also used it as a 2nd hdtv and video playback device in the modeled basement where my computer is. I later decided that a smaller monitor paired with my other monitor would suit me better as a dual monitor setup, so I switched to a 28" lcd instead.

These monitors still go for about $900 new so I'd like to get $500 for it. If no one buys it here I'll probably try craigs list and maybe even ebay. If no sale I'll probably give it to my parents or something. Its a good tv/monitor for around $500. I figured I'd give it a shot selling it here first since we have a little community here so there should be a little more buyer confidence in our 'small town'.

Pics to follow.

Pic of my desk setup as it used to be with the 37" lcd. Note that the half wall and wires on the left is where my "new" tank is being set up at the moment, and is under construction.

Being used in someone's room as part of a high def tv/pc/video playback center (a.k.a. HTPC).....

I think I'm going to give it a run on Craigs at $500 asking price, but will still take $450 if someone offers it from there (or here). Anything under that I might as well keep it or in the long run give it to a relative.

I have my eye on a few particular models of 24" or larger desktop lcds to use as part of a dual monitor htpc (movie/tv playback pc) setup in my living room. My main tv would be the playback device while the 24"+ desktop monitor would be on a long hdmi cable on a small mobile desk in a different part of the room. Anyway these monitors I'm looking at are $500+ so if I don't get $450 min I'll may end up keeping the 37" as the 2nd monitor.

k.. that small pic on my desktop is fully clothed I guess its an illusion. Its a fleshy colored shirt with sequins its just that the picture is so small in the main pic. Its the best pic I have of my current desktop though. I guess I could black that part out with photo editing.

I'll pull the wallpaper one now though.

No problem. Doesn't hurt to ask. I'll see what comes out of craigs maybe I can get around $450 if I ask 5. Otherwise I'll just redo some furniture and try to incorporate the 37" as I dont want to be too shy of the $ for the replacement monitor models I've been eying. A smaller high quality lcd would just be more convenient for the purposes of the mini desk.
