OT - a few from Tahoe

I have Dino, but most of the time I really don't like the result. The resulting range of tones generally looks fake to me and it grates on my nerves. 
I use a PS action that frames and watermarks the images and does a "save for web" so the exif gets stripped. You can see my settings if you look at them in my gallery. (last 3 images)

Thanks, I've always wondered that because your images are all really well exposed for the entire scene, and I've been reading a lot on using two exposures - one exposed generally for the sky and then one for the foreground details to get a lot more natural look without blowing anything out. I'll have to go look at them now , been trying to learn how to do low-light stuff, I just need to find a good subject for it.
Some people do it all the time as part of their standard workflow and it works for them. To each his own. For the two scenes with the moon my primary focus was to not blow out the moon. It has a lot to do with being their at the right time and paying close attention to the histogram.
I also carry and frequently use a soft edged split gradient neutral density filter. I don't like the screw in ones I use a 4 x 6" that I hand hold in front of the lens. I don't recall if either of those moon shots used one or not.

I use another framing action to create the frame. I just used the record function to wrap all of my standard stuff together. I have two actions, one for portrait, one for landscape. The action calls the framing script, adds a text layer with my watermark, adds the glow style to the text, drops the opacity, flattens the file and then does a "save for web" into my default folder.

My guess as to why you left Tahoe is shoveling a driveway, freezing, slipping and driving on ice. The same reasons why I left Chicago.

Doug, I see some really nasty dust bunnies you should really clean that up before posting, it is really unprofessional to post these pictures like that, really what were you thinking, I mean com'on.....wait, oops, it was my monitor. Hmmm tastes like pizza grease. Nevermind.
