Ok ...perfect here is what I want to do ....I have a table of numbers and a colume of names ...I want to be able to pull a name from the column and have excel look at yhe table and pull text ....different text depending on what number it sees in the table and link those text sentences with that name ...if that makes sence

thats a pretty easy function to put together...sounds like it's either a vlookup or an hlookup, depending on the information you want to pull and the orientation of the data in the table.

google those two functions and read a walk through to see if it's what you're looking to do.

ok andrew helped me figure out some of what Im trying to do and now just need to finish things off.....shoot me some numbers here folks so I can give you a call and finish this up...thank you andrew for the help so far also
