hi..anyone know any good installers around here...i want to put my navigation in my car and a custom box..any help is appreciated thanks

thanks patio, but I live in the south bay...kind of a journey for me..but ill def keep that in mind if i do not find any other good places

what kind of navi are u going to install?

If you got a saw, have some small knowledge of wood work you can do these so called custom boxes for cheap.

Not sure what kind of car u going to do it in but there's a box builder on Commercial St/Oakland Rd that can do this for you cheaper than places like auto sound securty etc....

I wouldn't recommend fiberglass if you're in it for sound and clean looks. MDF still makes the best enclosures.

thanks for all the heads up..ill call all the peopple up tommorow..btw danniebys..its the eclispe avn unit and i am planning to use mdf...i have no experience with a saw ..wanna help hahahaha cheers

never used the eclipse unit but I had 2 Eclipse Alum. on a 1500bd fosgate which was and sq/spl sub and they were wicked.

gave one to my litto bro, and to my suprise. One sub sounded extremely good. I'm probably gonna install the one in my car. :)

What mids on tweets are u planning to use?

Ahh, a car stereo thread! How cool is this!! This was a hobby of mine when I was single. I may get back into this. I have a new car and desperately want to upgrade the system. I need more bass!!! I'll prolly end up with a couple 10" JL Audio woofers enclosed in a box. It's been sooo long since Ive been in the scene. I wonder what brand of amps are nice now? Back in the days, I used to run PPI, Orion, and Soundstream amps. I'm sure things have changed a lot over the years.

I would also recommend Auto Sound in Mountain View. Victor and Vince have been in the business for years. They do great work and have good prices!

C'mon man, u don't need to be single to have a system in your car. Hell put one in your lady's car and she won't be complaining about yours. That's what I did.

Actually, Those are still very good brands.

Hehe, my wife wouldn't know the difference between a cd and an 8 track tape! She just doesn't care about sq. I. on the other hand, would love to upgrade my stock speakers. I just dont want to rip apart my dash as my navigation system is rather nice. I suppose I could go with a high to low converter. I hear there is some new high to low converter made by, umm, cant remember the name!

I'm not an expert by any means but I just recently had some work done in my truck and after doing some research, i tried out Zapco Competition and Arc Audio amps. Local companies that have excellent reputation for performance and SQ.

Ahh, the 7909, very nice deck! Back in the days, I used to run the Alpine 7390, the one with the huge screen. I loved that deck.
