I always like to hear the bad news first, so here it goes. Due to unforeseeable hardships, finances, and personal matters. My employer sat me down last week to talk about his position and my future. The feeling needless to say killed the normal spring in my step as I walked into his office.
"Justin, you are an outstanding worker. And this is very hard for me because I also consider you a friend..."
Then proceeded to tell me how he was forced to cut the staff in half. Knowing his staff consisted of only 5 people, and me being last to be hired. I knew to whom was included in this half. I tried to be positive and ultimately was as from day one I was told I was temporary. That was 9 months ago. I wasnt getting payed half of my competitive wage, but was happy to show up everyday, cuz the guy was the best boss you could to ever have. Understanding, flexible, and gave me perks like unlimited use of a nice pocket PC/phone and time off when I needed, no questions asked. Plus it was conveniently where my girlfriend works, so it was acceptable. But, the low pay was starting to catch up to me, as some of you may have noticed hearing my power go out and an almost total tank crash(which btw has completely turned around! And now have a pH of 8.3 and everyone seems to be happy, I'll see if I can post pics tomorrow Doug, thanks for asking!) and among other things that we were doing the balancing act to make ends meet.
Today, I find out that tomorrow is my last day here at Bones Law Firm and I will be considered "layed-off". Talk about a heavy head and a heavy heart!
But!Now for the good news! Before the day was done, I mean close too. Another attorney approached me, that Ive worked with on an off since working here. "Sooo, Justin. How would you feel, about working for me?" after I asked what his proposal was in terms of compensation, I did a momentary backflip within myself, and said SURE!
So from feeling like I was about to be struggling through some of the darkest times yet to come. I am now net'ing $500 dollars more a month!Whoohoo!!Not only that, but Im working in the same building! Can I get an Amen!??!
Just wanted to share with my online buddies here, thanks for readin.
