OT- Boxing

Yeah, there's not a much near me.

I'm a big spinks fan. I've seen him fight several times. Although, his fight against Jermain Taylor was hard to sit through.

I even have a picture of cory holding my daughter. I'll see if I can find it

cool!

i thought cory gave jt a good fight the first half of the fight. but then he changed into his running shoes.

The whole spinks family is from st. louis also.

I saw judah beat spinks here in st. louis in 2005 in which he fought pretty good just not good enough.

However, that taylor fight I thought was terrible. There was a total of 211 punches in the first 3 rounds for the 2 combined! WAY too low for that weight class

He is a good boxer, but he doesn't belong at 160. I think he still has a shot at 154 and I dont count him out on getting his hands on another title.

There is some place that just went in I believe it is "The Boxing Gym" in Manchester or it might be Winchester where it sits not sure much about it other than it is right next to a Chinese joint I get take out from.

what do you think of a pbf vs. spinks fight? boring?

judah is a punk!

That is out of the question. ever since spinks vs. judah I in which he dominated, I think he has gone downhill. Plus, him moving up in weight class seems kindof strange. Kindof a weird group of fighters although all the way from 154 all the way to 168 so I think he's kindof out of luck.`

I think he'll be fighting one of these people in the next 12-15 months which could really define his career one way or the other.

Ricardo Mayorga (rematch- also depends if vs. vargas happens)
Joe Calzaghe (this would be a good fight at 160)
Kassim Ouma

BTW- I can't stand mayweather but he would slaughter spinks

Problem is you don't have a lot of people to come up from 147 to fight and the 154 is kindof strange right now. I agree he shouldn't be fighting at 160 but depending on the fight, it would be well worth it to fight but I'd guess they'd look for someone to drop from 168 rather than someone currently fighting at 160

It's not open yet but yeah, that is about a mile from my house. I'm not even sure they have a ring there though? I hope it does

Spinks is just not in the same class as the premier fighters IMO.

That just made me laugh. (not that I disagree) Define premier fighters in the last 5-7 years. Not who was the best of those times but a premier fighter. I'm having a hard time thinking of more than a handful or so. Everyone else was just good for their time. Lennox Lewis!!!

True, there's no premier fighters in that weight class. It's a pretty watered down class. I guess I'm saying over matched against any of the recent champions.

Not just in that weight class. All of them. It's been a weak era in boxing.

picks on cotto - judah ?

That's a tough one. I think I'm going to root for Cotto. Either way, it's going to be an awesome fight. One of my favorite weight classes to watch. I haven't decided if I'm going to buy this one. I just got done with the mayweather/de la hoya fight which was $55
