OT Butterflies

I remember a thread this spring I think it was by Gary noting the number of butterflies being seen; here's one I've never noticed before, and another my other says is not a butterfly, nevertheless, I love seeing them humming about:

I don't know how my p&s got this shot; their wings never stop moving.

The orange butterfly is most likely the Aphrodite Fritillary, Speyeria aphrodite. But there is a small chance it could be the Great Spangled Fritillary its tough to say without having it in front of me.

The second guy is pretty cool, it is a Hummingbird Moth, Macroglossum stellatarum. Its a day flying moth that is somewhat common in NY. I was teaching a group of 4H kids about bugs when a little sister of one of the members who was only 3 years old went out into a field and came back with one of these in her hands. She was pretty proud of herself.
