Perfection isn't always right. Nor is our preception. I am a bad speller. I admit it. And I refuse to cover it up just so I could get an A in someone's book. this is who I am. Spell check is also cheeting. I am I don't cheet. so I guess the world will have to deal with my bad spelling. peoples bad spelling don't bother me. In fact it gives carector to what I am reading. kind like and insight to how they preceve things. yeah I know Bad spelling through out my whole writing. just a reminder that nobody is perfect.
The major issue I have with bad spelling/grammar is when people just don't care. It's found often on internet forums. Sure, people may know the difference between "quite" and "quiet" or "there" and "their" in context, but they'll be arsed if they can be bothered to put the right one in the sentence they're creating. Worse yet, when corrected, they react harshly screaming things like "if you don't like the way I type then that's YOUR problem," not realizing that in fact, it is theirs - especially if they attempt to communicate in a professional manner with the same disregard of grammar/spelling.
Still, I think the worst news I've heard in a long time is the fact that according to my boss at work, his third-grade children aren't given spelling tests because, according to the school, "we have spell-check now. We don't need to teach spelling." :mad2:
It's actually kind of funny in that on another message board that I'm a member of (which is known for its crude sense of humor, extremely offensive content) the language commonly known as "AOL speak" (a.k.a. "OMG UR MY BFF") is a ticket to an instant ban. The irony is that in the den of some of the most offensive people on the planet, we still don't sink to the level of "AOL speak."
