OT -- Car Batteries

SO my truck battery is DOA, been on its last leg for a year or so. Its 6+ years old and my truck pull smore than your normal load so I figure even if I get it jumped and started after work its due to be replaced.

Any recommendations on brand, model, any to stay away from? I am looking to to get one that will power my truck, with a couple extras like my scanner and light bar and eventually I want to invest in an inverter to use as an emergency power source for my aquarium.

I would find out what brand vw/audi is using. A friend of mine has a 99 Jetta (with the same battery since 99) and the battery is still runing strong. Might be crazy to believe but its true. We have a Passat for almost 5 years with no problems also.

Thanks I was looking at those a while back. I guess I will see what AAA has and if they don't offer something I am comfortable with I will get my own battery.

5 years is the average life for a battery so you got your moneys worth. I like ac delco or interstate batteries. Optima's are great batteries but a waste of money for a standard car. Call around and see what price you like and what the warranties are. See if you can find the longest warranty with close to the price you want to spend.
