OT - Cardinals stuff - The Rick

Sorry for jumping in on the SLASH forum.

Two weeks before the Cardinals report.

I'm ready for baseball.

I came across something interesting. Notice the last pitcher listed on the Memphis Redbirds roster -

Is that a typo or ????

Is anything being said/printed in STL about this? I know he signed a minor league contract, but the position listing is interesting.

I read that he was signed to another minor league contract, but the article said nothing about being signed as a pitcher. Personally I think the Cardinals need to cut their losses on this guy. He had amazing potential; it just never seemed to come together after that postseason game.

Just a typo as far as I know. The guy is an outfielder now. But that is the second time this winter I've seen him listed as a pitcher. Although, I don't think they should be sending him to Memphis after sitting out a full season with an injury. They should start him at AA Springfield, MO and he should have to earn the promotion to AAA.

I've always pulled for the guy. I would love to see him come back and make the team as either an outfielder or a pitcher.

There is the conspiracy theories about him hiding out and pretending to be an outfielder, all the while, working on his pitching.

he's an of. he's got a lot of raw power for a hitter. he hit 20+ hrs a couple years ago. if he can improve his plate discipline he'll be alright. and if he can stay healthy.

and its not like we have any of prospects besides rasmus and maybe jay.
