Everyone is welcome to come out and see me play ball!! I play for a women's full contact football team out of Clarksville. Here is a press release for this weekend.

Clarksville Fox vs. New England Intensity in
IWFL Tier II Conference Football Playoff

The Women’s Full Contact Football Team the Clarksville Fox has finished the 2008 IWFL Tier II Regular Season in first place. The Fox joined the largest and most competitive women’s full contact football league the IWFL (Independent Women’s Football League) this season. The Fox finished the year with a record of 7-1 winning their division and also the first place seed in the post season playoffs.
The Fox would like to invite everyone in middle Tennessee and Kentucky to come out to Northwest High School in Clarksville, TN. on June 28th to watch them take on the wildcard team, the New England Intensity, in the playoffs. The gates will open at 6:00 PM with inflatables for the kids to play on, merchandise booths, and concessions. Tickets are $10.00 with all children 10 years of age and younger will be let in FREE !!! Those wanting to tailgate that Saturday are invited to bring their grills and party in the parking lot at Northwest High School, but remember alcohol is not allowed on school property. The kick off will be at 7:00 PM. Come out and support the best woman’s football team in TN and the surrounding area, the Clarksville Fox, in the IWFL Tier Two’s playoff game between the first place team the Fox and the wildcard team. The winner of this playoff game will go on to the IWFL Championship game in Chicago in July.
The Fox would like to dedicate this game to their fans and to the men and women of the United States Armed Forces. In part of showing our appreciation for the US ARMY, the games special guest doing the coin toss will be the Rear Detachment Commander of the 101st Sustainment Brigade LTC Jayme M. Sutton accompanied by Fort Campbell’s 101st Honor Guard.
For more information about the Clarksville Fox, the IWFL, or the post-season games you can contact the Owner/General Manager Rob Brown by going to the web site www.TheClarksvilleFox.com , email Rob at CoachoftheFox@AOL.com

If anyone does go my number is 76 and I play Offensive Guard. I am on the back row all the way to the left.

I didn't even know we had anything like that in middle tn. the weekend is already full, but the best of luck to you and the team

Norman

wow!!!...thats awesome!!!....on another note though........you think i can borrow #71 for a basketball tourney next month?.....just kiddin........good luck though!

I actually played for a few years for the Nashville Dream, founding team of the NWFA, but they folded this year. So about ten of us decided we didnt want to sit out and we started carpooling back in January to play for the Fox. Been a long and tiring season so far but if we make it past this playoff game we head to the championship game in Chicago on July 26th and it will all be worth it. Would be nice to win a championship since this is my last year playing.

Cool, good luck this weekend. I used to work with someone that played on the Dream several years ago, I knew that they existed, but had no idea there was a team up here in CVille.

Do you remember who it was that you worked with sandalscout? I might know them.

Gsusfreak - You can borrow #71 but I warn you, she is a bit of a sissy, kinda squishy in my opinion. But its all good. :-)

I'd love to play ball again... don't suppose there is a full contact league for severely out of shape has been males? I play flag football, but I find pulling flags to be tedious and annoying especially when I could have smoked the guy by just tackling. My real edge on the field was being smart enough to stay out of bad situations but crazy enough to run into anyone at full speed if I had to.

I was a full back/pulling guard on O and switched between middle linebacker and nose guard on D (I loved nose guard because they basically used me to shoot the gap whenever I lined up there, so as long as I got passed the big guys inside fast enough, I'd be right in the middle of the play... and I don't like quarterbacks).

Brian, I think one of our coaches at the beginning of the year left us to form a mens team. I will try and find the link.

We do a little bit of guard pulling but not much. I play guard but they dont do any pulling when I am in because lets face it, they dont call me Turtle for nothing.

the two teams I can remember are the Nashville Storm out of Nashville and the Tri-city Knights from Clarksville.

Yet another article!!!
This one is from the Leaf Chronicle out of Clarksville

http://www.theleafchronicle.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080630/SPORTS/806300338

Can you tell I am hyped up?!?

On another note, we have less than a month to raise the money it will take to get us there. This seasons away games have pretty much emptied out the teams bank account. We have been to Baton Rouge Louisianna, Charlotte North Carolina, Chicago and Wisconsin. The last game we even had to break down and drive in vans and pay for our own hotel rooms. Sacrifices of playing a women's sport. The Championship weekend is going to be two days worth and I am sure the team is going to want to head up early so we dont drive all night and play the next afternoon like we have in the regular season. I mean, we are talking about a chance to win the championship here. If anyone takes pity on us or wants to help out in anyway please feel free to contact me or you can always visit the teams website link at www.theclarksvillefox.com and there is a link there where you can donate to the team. I think its a PayPal thing. And PLEASE make sure you add in some comments on the paypal transaction that I sent you turtle # 76. I want to make sure I know who to thank!!!

Hopefully pics links coming soon. And I promise you guys wont have to hear about this EVERY day until the game :-) LOL

Help the Fox win a Championship game!!

Help the Fox win a Championship game!!

Ok for all those who wanted info and those who just found out, we are starting out fundraising to get to the game. We are having a Golf Tournament. WOOHOO. All you golfers jump in!

We need teams to play in the tournament and sponsors for each hole. Let me know!! Here is a copy and past of the first rough draft of the flyer.

Fox in IWFL Tier II Championship Game

The Clarksville Fox defeated the New England Intensity 32-0 in the IWFL Conference Wildcard Game. The Fox had a great offensive game accompanied with a defense that was “Off the Chain”. The Fox defense only allowed 12 total yards by the Intensity. The Fox will work hard during the break before traveling to Chicago to play in the IWFL Tier Two Championship Game July 26th at 3:00 in the afternoon. The Clarksville Fox (The Youngest Women’s Full Contact Football Team to ever play in an IWFL championship game) will play the Montreal Blitz (The first team from outside the United States to play in a women’s full contact football championship game) for the title as Champions.
The Fox in its two short seasons have put not only Clarksville on the map but also have become a force in women’s football across the United States. The Fox have over thirty players and 7 coaches that make many sacrifices to be a part of the team. Nobody gets paid on the team but rather pay to play and to coach. It is very expensive to complete a season in women’s full contact football. Making it to the postseason is the goal for any team, but also comes with a price. Now that the Fox will be playing in the IWFL Championship Game, they need to raise the funds needed to get there. The Fox have enjoyed great fan support at the home games and also support from local businesses and their owners as sponsors during the regular season.
The Fox have set up a couple fund raisers to raise the money needed to get to Chicago July 26th. The main one is a golf tournament to be played July 19th at Swan Lake Golf Course in Clarksville, TN. The tournament will be a scramble with a shotgun start at 8:00 AM. The scramble will consist of 18 groups of 4 players. Sign up will start July 12th. People can sign up either at Swan Lake Golf Course or by contacting Rob Brown at 931-320-2976 or CoachoftheFox@AOL.com. The cost to play in the tournament is $50 per player which includes their green fees and a golf cart.
The Fox is also looking for people and businesses to sponsor the 18 holes on the golf course. Each hole will have signs advertising the person or business that has sponsored that hole. Each hole to sponsor is $500. A sign will be made and put up on that golf hole tee box showing the sponsor. Businesses are invited to have a company representative there at the hole to hand out business cards and or gifts to the golfers in the tournament.
Thank you for supporting the Clarksville Fox, women’s sports, and assisting the Fox team in completing their dream of not only playing full contact football but also winning the IWFL Tier Two Championship.

More info on the Fox

Story On The Fox
Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers and TN State Representative Joe Pitts have sent very generous donations since they are not able to play in the event but want to support this event and want to support the Fox team. I want to thank them very much for their generosity and for their commitment to making Clarksville, Montgomery County, Fort Campbell area, and Tennessee a place where the community support those who are trying to not only better themselves physically and morally but also to better the community as a whole. The Fox are roll models for the kids in the area and it is nice to have voted in public officials recognize and support these goals of the Fox.

The one thing they needed that was not in the original letter sent out was a way to make a donation. Donations can be done through the PayPal Donation button on the team's web site under Trixy on the left, clicking here, or by sending a check or money order made payable to the Clarksville Fox to the team at the address below.
