OT: clean used HD

Anyone have a clean harddrive 80gb or more used on an XP system? I am having trouble with one of my computers and I think a boot sector virus in combination with my increasing levels of frustration may have rendered the HD unusable :C).

cpu is a dell xps 410 i believe. ata samsung 240gb hd is what I believe to be ruined.

As a matter of fact, I have an 80gb sitting right here in front of me.... but its an IDE....

I have one more thing I am going to try that I thought of after post, then it may be Office Space time.

I work with computers I might be able to take your computer and run some tests on it. It could be just some corrupt registry files that should be easy to repair. What exactly is happening with your computer?
