OT: Corn snakes

I just too a few pics. There are now 5 snakes out. One is hiding. So far it's 3 normals, 1 pastel, and 1 that I believe is a Anery, the black and gray one. There are still 5 that just have their heads out and 1 egg that hasn't started.

Oh, and the smaller eggs are where the female double clutched. She laid 6 more eggs last week, but I'm not sure if they are gonna make it. Doesn't look too good. But I will keep them incubating and see.

Holy cow man! Thats awesome! They look great! I wish I could have one, but our apartments only allow fish. :(

Not really into snakes myself, but this is pretty cool!!!!

How hard/rare is it for cornsnakes to successfully breed for a hobbyist?

I assume they are easy. They say the corn snake is one of the easiest pet snakes to have. I didn't even use a incubator. My bonus room stays so hot. I keep the thermostat set on 80 because I'm not up there much. So, I just put the eggs in moist vermiculite in a tupperware and let them sit on the shelf. They started hatching 2 days before it would have been a total of 10 weeks.

This morning I counted 9 snakes. All all normal, pastel, and anery. I was hopin' for 1 or 2 Amel (like the father).

Sounds like you lost the genetic lottery... I wonder what your odds were to start with?

Sweet. I have had snakes in the past and my best friend when I was a kid had a few batches of eggs but never got them to hatch.
I have a friend with a 7 year old son if you are looking for any homes. Thanks for sharing the pics.
