OT: Did You Vote Today ?!?!

Just voted. Dragged wife, brother and 3 month old daughter along. They wouldn't let my daughter vote, though. Maybe next time.

They ran out of Republican and Democratic ballots in a lot of places in Yolo County. Waited 50 minutes for the ballot before I voted.

Got my vote in, I turned in my non partison absentee so I could vote for a nominee. I think it's lame that so many people can't vote for either party. I want to vote for both.

If you want you can go to your pooling place and get a special form that will let you vote Dem or Lib I think.
But Repub will only let you vote repup if you are registered repub in California

I never understood the logic in this... But thats why people far more intelligent than I run the country - to make laws and systems like this.

Each party decides it's own rule on who can vote for that party's primary. The Republican party decided that only Republican can vote the Republican nominee. The Democrats decided that Democrats AND independents can vote for the Democrat primary.

So if you were a Democrat, you have to use the Democrat ballot. If you are a Republican, you have to use the Republican ballot. (Although I wonder if you can use an independent or non-partisan ballot.) However, if you are a independent, then you can use eith the non-partisan ballot, the independent ballot, or the Democrat ballot.

I had a Non-partison ballot but turned it in. Saw on the news that people with my situation had a hard time being able to vote for a nominee.

Alot of people who work at polling places dont know alot of the rules when it comes to voting. A lot of people in sacramento were turned away because they are independent and wanted to vote in the Demo election.

Luckily I didnt have any problems.
