OT: El Paso Bank /Credit Union Suggestions

Hi Everyone,

can anyone recommend a good bank in the El Paso area?

Or a credit union that could offer a checking account, AND is insured against robbery and "running out of funds"?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I believe the top three banks in EP are:

Bank of america
Wells Fargo
Chase

The top Credit unions are:
First light Credit union
GECU

I bank with Bank of america, Wells fargo, and Frist light credit union. The first two i have because they have banks nation wide and they were also in Germany when I leved out there. First light Credit union has always lent me money with no problems so thats why I still have an account with them as well.

id never use bank of america, i use United Bank and i hear first light is good.

I am using Chase and Wells Fargo. I dont think you can go wrong with either. Sometimes they offer promotions to incentivize you to sign up. I have a friend who is a manager at Chase. I will see if they are doing anything at the moment for new accounts.

I use GECU and Teachers FCU, both have treated me very well

I use GECU.. It has been great so far but they dont close as late as Wells Fargo and arent open Sundays like Wells Fargo... I cant criticize but I worked in a place where we did surveys over the phone and we did one nationwide about Bank of America and the comments were mainly bad... But like I said I cant criticize since I've never had an experience with them..
