Just thought I'd mention a video game that those of you with a Nintendo Wii might enjoy. It's called Endless Ocean and you should be able to find it at Target and the like for $30 or less. Endless Ocean places you in the role of a scuba diver in a fictional sea where the goal is to scuba dive at your leisure. The game is very relaxed, and while there are goals and tasks to complete, the game is sure to remind you that you never have to do them. Instead you can just float around the ocean interacting with the marine life. There are apparently several hundred types of marine life and so far I've found many species that I've seen kept in reef tanks. The game's main focus is fish, but there are also inverts including shrimp and stars. While the coral is completely ignored, the game is extremely beautiful all around. The fish look and move very realistically. The way the sunlight dances off of the water and shines through crevasses to illuminate the ocean's floor is also impressive. A very cool, very relaxed game that I have enjoyed very much. As I don't have a reef right now, this virtual one that I can interact keeps my interest in the hobby while still providing something fun to waste time on.
