Well here's a few of my fav pics from the last fireworks show we did at Bear Valley (2/17/07).
I'm still waiting to post all the pics to my site, cause a few people have not given me all the images yet.

A snowcat took us up the mountain

wow...this was my dream job as a child...never lost interest just didnt really think it could be a career....im interested in learning more as well

hahah thanks Mike!!!
Ok here's the deal so I don't have to send out a bunch of PM's

You can become an "apprentice" anytime you want.

You work basically for free as an apprentice. (unless the licensee gives you some cash)

Only the Licensee gets money for the job, he can share if he wants, but don't count on it. You are there for needed experience, not cash.

You must be 21 to get your license BUT only 18 to become an apprentice.

as an apprentice you may setup AND SHOOT at shows!!!

You must be on 8 post-display reports with 5 different licensed operators within two consecutive years.

Then you must ask to obtain 5 letters of recommendation from licensed operators you have worked with.

Then you can apply for your license.
Once the application is approved, the State will set your test date

Study the State Fireworks Laws

Take the Test

THEN......
You must get this to transport the fireworks...

Hazardous Materials Endorsement
Class "C" Commercial Driver's License
TSA background check and fingerprint
Updated Health Certificate

I don't have a license yet but, I'm working towards one.

This is never a full time gig, even once licensed. There simply aren't enough shows to keep you busy all day everyday. But once licensed;
it's GREAT side money!!!

The pay is good for how many hours you really work.
Most licensed operators get around 7-10 shows per year, or almost 1 per month.

Here is a sweet pic for ya.
