OT: For you smartphone/multimedia phone users out there

I'm actually on TNGunOwners, too, Jason. :D Not quite as active as on RC, but same name. :)

I'll check it out, man.

Crap... he's selling an AT&T... I have to have Verizon. :(

BUT, I'm up for renewal in August... unless I have to (of which I probably won't), I'll just wait because then I can get it for $100. I've had absolutely no problems whatsoever on Verizon. I don't anticipate paying an extra $30 for the "BlackBerry plan", but we'll see. Since I'll be up for a new contract I'll try to work something out.

The Curve is pretty nice, but its a lot wider. The main reason I want the Pearl is that it does everything I need plus some and it can still fit comfortable in my pocket. I went and checked one out today at the Verizon store and I'm pretty sure its what I'll get. But again, 3 months is a long time in technology. :)

Not to turn this into a gun discussion, but it seems the phone discussion is pretty much through, so what are TN gun owners packing?

My gun collection is strictly utilitarian...

Remington 12 gauge 11-87 Semi-Auto Special Purpose - Waterfowl (my general purpose shotgun...love me some duck hunting but spots have not been jumping out at me since moving to TN)
Mossberg 410 pump (rabbits/squirrels/small birds)
Savage Mark II .22 cal. bolt action with bull barrel (varmint/target rifle)
Pre-'64 Winchester Model 70 bolt action .270 (big game rifle) - If I didn't love this gun so much I would retire it... still shooting the old irons since I honestly can't find rear scope mounts for it.

1950's Remington Wingmaster 870 16 gauge
Marlin semi-auto .22
Western Auto .22 single shot (fun little rifle)
1950s S&W Kit revolver .22

Thats about it for me. My next gun purchase will probably be a Springfield XD9 and/or a .223 of some sort. Maybe a Mini 14. :)

I am supposed to own an 1879 Colt 45 that was my great, great grandfathers, but my freaking step dad gave it away to my uncle after my uncle gave him a sob story. My stepdad didn't know how much it meant to me (my grandfather had told me I would get it, but has since had a motorcycle wreck with a lot of brain damage) and how much it was worth, but I'm pretty sure my uncle won't give it up. I may try later, though. We'll see.

IF my contract is almost up like you with Verizon, I'll leave them ASAP. That's my opinion though, I have nothing BUT problems with Verizon since the day I sign up with them. I have never had so much problem with a phone company and phones until I signed up with Verizon. Phones have constant issues or they mess up my billing.....Their customer service is average to poor depending on who your talking to, all of them tell you something different....Most of them aren't trained properly to even tell you the correct answer....My previous companies have been Sprint, Cingular, and T-mobile. None I had issues with....

My experience has been quite the opposite. :)

I have had absolutely no problems with Verizon and am more than happy to stay until something changes. Hopefully it won't change with a new phone and contract come August!

Well, Jason, I went and checked out the Curve. Rumor is that its the exact same thing as the Pearl, just with a QWERTY keyboard and bigger screen. Thats pretty nice, but at the same time the Pearl fits really nicely into the ole pocket and I'm not huge into texting, so I'm not 100% sure just yet but I'm going to look up some specs and reviews and go from there. :)

Thanks for the heads up on that.

edit: 3000th post... neat. :)

Well, I figured I'd update this thread just for the heck of it if nothing else. :)

I ended up with two BlackBerrys. Let me explain. :)

First off, I had a friend a few weeks ago sell me his 8830 World Edition (it runs on world GSM band as well as CDMA in the States) for $20... I couldn't pass that one up! I thought it would be a great way to try a BlackBerry out, and it was!

I loved it! So I figured I'd like a Curve even more and today got one (for $50 :) ). I do like it even better! Its a bit smaller, the screen is the same size, and it has a camera on it (that I don't use real often, but comes in really handy every once in a while :) ). Sweet.

Thanks for the heads-up on the Curves, Jason. They are definitely the way to go (for now) for Verizon BlackBerry users. Can't wait to see the new touchscreen that will be out soon. :)

Forgot to mention... I also converted Norman, planted a seed in Wayne and Joy, and Norman converted Joy with Wayne in close pursuit to getting BlackBerrys. :D

If anyone wants my PIN number for BlackBerry Messenger, just PM me. :)
