Wel I called charter on my drive home last night. Its the only time I will call them because its wasted time anyway. I got transferred to a account manager after hearing a guy tell me the smae thing 5 or 6 times, "there is no compensation for the loss of CBSHD"
When I was transferred Dawn from Wisconsin told me the same thing. I explained that I understand CBSHD is gone and the deal with Belo I understand and can see the reasoning form both sides but the bottom line is I want to know when to expect it back so I can find another route to get it if needed. I also told her I was sick of being told that there was no compensation for the loss of CBSHD and now I talk to people and they have been compensated. She told me there was no way she could give me a HDDVR and waive the monthly fee forever or even an amount of time, it just wasnt an option for anyone. She could waive the install but not the monthly fees. I told her I didnt want a larger bill. She continued to tell me there was no compensation available for the loss of CBSHD. Then in the next sentance she told me she was going to reduce my monthly bill.
This made me even more angry. I asked what changed and why she could now break the rules and give me compenstaion for the loss of CBSHD. She told me she wasnt compensating for the loss of the channel but trying to please an upset customer. What a way to twist things around.
I wasnt going to turn down a discount so she did her thing and nothing in my service has changed and I went from around $117.50 a month to $73.99. I decided this was good enough for now. At least enough to keep me from switching providers.
Paying 63% of what I used to for the same service was worth 50 minutes on the phone.
