OT: Honest Mechanic

I know how it can be trying to find a mechanic you can trust so I though I'd share my experience. A huge thanks to a fellow reefer Darksilentype aka John at Meineke on Manchester. He could have taken advantage (like most mechanics do) but instead helped me out, greatly. I will recommend him to my friends and family.

Actually John is pretty good to do business with. I have also found another person, through the boardd here who did me a good turn on some body work, thanks to Arsenal and Jxmetal.

You have to look but they are out there...

I gotta chime in here. I used to own a shop and was a mechanic for 8+ years and know and worked with 100+ mechanics and most of them would go out of their way to help each other and customers. Problem is you get 1 shop that wants to take advantage of people then it ruins the reputation of most shops. I knew of a couple shops close to mine that would do things like that and some of the stuff they did was unbelievable. My point is that 80-90% off the shops are honest people and I hate the fact that the few bad ones ruin it for all of them. Good to hear darksilenttype is taking care of people and I know john "fade32" is a good mechanic as well ,as are most mechanics. Also remember sometimes you get what you pay for.

I enjoy helping people out when I can . I would have to say that most mechanics are honest and there are a few that are not so honest and they do give us all a bad name . With that said I will do my best to help anyone out if at all possible to do so . If anyone needs vehicle repair and is looking for a place to be treated like you are a family member please call or come by .It is my pleasure to show you that most mechanics are fair and honest .

John reportedly once paid for a quesedilla that I had already paid for. I paid at the bar and the waitress who served it did not know I paid. When she came frontin' for the money John dove over everyone else and said "I got this one people, everyone move back and let me handle this."

That takes a stand up guy if I do say so myself.
