With Thanksgiving a week away, just taking an informal poll. How do you do your turkey? Baked? Deep fried? Brined? Any secret recipes you want to share? How about favorite fixins?

Im Thanksgivings that my wife doesent work my brother in law usually brings his deep fryer over to the house. I was never a big fan of it. This year i think I am going to do a 24hr brine and then bake it. Serve it up with some of my world famous garlic mashed red potatoes and some home made turkey gravy. Then it will be time to watch the Cowboys whip the stuffing out of the Redskins. Then maybe head to Target and watch humanity at its most vile.

Always brine imo.
Any bird I brine 24 hrs before hand, even my bbq chicken
I dont have time this year, but the last 3 years I have deep fried the turkey and it was crazy awesome. the next day you wont notice a taste differeance, but the night you cook it you till.

brine turkey:
white wine
garlic
pepper
sh_it ton of salt
onion
water
other flavors you like

place in plastic bag with all ingredients, and place that in a pot full of ice for 24hrs

after that, take turkey out, pat dry, and inject with garlic butter

if you deep fry, make sure its peanut oil and its at the max temp (read online for instructions on deep frying)

For our brine, we use Apple Cider, chicken stock, salt, and then various herbs/spices. For a turkey, we put it inside of an extra large zip lock bag (usually one inside of another) and let it sit in our fridge for 2 days fully submerged.
