Anyone, I think I saw some of you that were in you signatures or something. Pm me so I can give you our number. Kind of important if anyone is around. Sorry if I should not have posted this here.
Thiniking there is something wrong with our breaker box..hubby kind of caused a major spark cause he didn't unplug something and now lights are flickering..worried a bit.
you should be alright Mom with that question in here ....Whats your issue ?? The MH keep popping the breakers ?? (wink) Chris84 is a electrician and does some side stuff
Breaker box is making popping noises..kinda scared of a fire issue especially with the kids in the house. The lights actually have gone on and off in one room. Even though we turned that breaker off it is still making noise.
Could you be more specific on the nanature of the problem and accident that caused it.Circuit breakers are designed to protection from overcurrent events- sparks. The problem should be localized to the affected circuit and easily corrected.
However I have worked on 70s vintage electric panels that mixed copper breaker contacts with aluminum buss bars in time the different metals oxidize which causes heat and failure in the panel box.
k well stupid as this is..something melted in the oven, plastic..in order to clean it we needed to unscrew the heating element and even though I told him to unplug it first he didn't. Major spark..now unplugged..but not sure if all is ok..
Sounds like a 220v line.
Clean the element....replace it....secure it tight....then plug it back in....I think loosening it cause arching which would make the breaker make noises.
thanks for the help guys..someone is at our house now and yes it is the 220 line and seems that the whole box may need to be replaced because they no longer make it or parts and it is no longer up to code. What a pain, house is only 20 some years old. Time to call the insurance company. Maybe at least get a new stove out of it.
