Anyone else download IE7.0 yet. I just did. I also downloaded Opera. I havent tried Foxfire, which is big with pc geeks. According to CNET.COM they are all very similar but Opera was much quicker when hitting the back button on your browser than ie6.0 ever was. Not enough for me to leave IE so I downloaded 7.0. Oh yea, Opera didnt work with RC spell check - which is why I went ahead and download IE7.0(it does work w/spell check)

I was told to run foxfire, because a lot of viruses, worms, etc. are set up to attack IE and Netscape... I still run IE though... But I'm not big on going to Porn sites or downloading, so I'm not too worried...

I hated the switch to XP so I still run it in classic look on xp. Seems IE7.0 doesnt have a classic version so if I gotta make a change I may as well try foxfire too.

I'm no pc geek, but I do spend about half of my working days online looking for various information. I've had 0 problems with Firefox and find it 100x easier to use. You can set-up easy to access bookmarks on a bar so that they are accessible (similar to the quick start bar at the bottom of windows) and if you commonly have more than one page open at a time, the tabs make it easier to move between these. Also, you can easily download extensions that allow you to do things like have a weather forecast and radar in the browser, drag-and-drop files to upload them (instead of having to use the browse bar), and too many others to list. Because it is open source, people can make their own extensions to fix "problems" with the software or to have it perform functions that they think will make it better. Just my $.02. I have nothing against microsoft or internet explorer, but this is a great product even for non-computer geeks.

Also a firefox user, The bookmarks and Tabs make for fast and easy surfing. I like looking at many things at once and have yet to have a pop up or virus or glitc with it. I am pretty well protected though, I have trend micro professional as well as zone alarm, and spyweeper.
