.....and exhausted. I'm going to be taking a break for the most part from the forums. I returned home to find all the coral in the 90g dead. I don't even want to talk about it. Next time I go away, I'm hiring someone qualified to house sit...because it didn't happen this time with hubby in charge.

Will and Kase...I have two items i need to pick up from you guys, the tank and the rock nem...and i will do that this week...today is going to be trying to recover from the nuclear bomb that went off here at home while i was gone.

anyone that wants to get ahold of me in the next few days...call or text. :strange:

Really truly sorry Kat.
Same thing happened to me once with a FW set-up. Hubby watched it for a week and killed everything. Really sorry.

Whoa..

I liked that tank when I saw it.
Sorry about the loss.

What happened specifically ?
Any idea?
Did you do a full check of everything before being away?
Including tests on water parameters?
Did Hubby overdose something?
Or did something die and nuke the tank without going noticed at first?

Things happen that suck. You'll pull through though.
Maybe the next project will prove even better.

Sorry to hear. I travel for business on ocassion for two weeks at a time. I went for. Controller and dosed for the sole reason of making life easier and taking the stress out of maintaining the tank while I'm away. Still needs supervision, but it will be more stable!

hey gang, thanks for the kindness and support. I'm still very angry and upset. Mel, you got a message on FB.

think i may have saved 4 corals....out of hundreds. what happened? here's the list:

hubby turned off the AC
turned off the fans on the tank because "they were too loud"
forgot to top off, sump ran dry, no circulation
timer fried on the halides...they were on all the time.
when he noticed tank was too hot....he added a bucket of ice.

anyone throwing up yet????
Jim? The doghouse is too good for him right now.

I hope he has some good qualities :)

Sorry to hear about your experience. Good luck with getting things going again. I have a few simple things you can have if you are ever down toward Elmira.

Wow! Yeah Jim has some Idea about the tank but if I were to leave for 2 weeks (I don't even want to think about what he'd be doing with the tank):worried: Think Id be calling home every night lol
Really sorry to hear about your losses! I'm still down about loosing one fish,Can't Imagine a whole tank full of losses :( (really really sorry ) On the upside Sounds like you mey be able to save a few :) Hang in hon and if you need anything give me a ring :)

I could see a couple of those things happening with non tank person watching over stuff. But ALL That !!??
Whew!!

The tension over there must be thick enough to cut with a knife right now!
Sorry about your luck Kat.

The worst the wife ever did to me was accidently let an HQI Halide fixture slip out of her hands and one end in the water! Yuck! Black smoke and stinky!
But nothing else damaged. It was like almost 3 years or more ago. We laugh about it now. But not funny at the time. Other than that, I'm pretty lucky with her. She's stays at home. So, she's the daytime tank watcher. I've got her trained pretty well. Feedings, topoffs, whatever...
In the summer, the fans and AC always stay on!

thats quite a list Kat..Time to lay the guilt trip on thick and get some new corals..and maybe some equipment that cuts the hubby out(or down) of the maintenance wile you are out of town)

Hey Kat, I would like to offer a couple of different colonies to get you started again. Very sorry for your loss. I am in Honeoye, let me know

I don't even know how to respond to this!
So many disasters crammed into such a short period of time!
I left for 5 days last month. Called hubby on day three and he had thus far forgotten about the tank. Then after that I'm sure his only priority was to make sure the damn cleaner shrimp was fed........
