My company is sending me through mike russ school so I can get my insurance license...Ive been studying like a madman and am just wondering if any of you have gone through it and could kind of let me know what the key topics I should be studying are?

Should I get the workbook? Flashcards they offer? Is the cram course worth it? Thanks

I took a cram course before. Its a different kind of course where you just memorize the answers. For example in one of your question if you see the phrase "big truck" then the answer will be the multiple choice with the "biggest answer. If one of the question has the word "oklahoma" then the answer will contain the word "sooner" in the multiple choice test so you just memorize Oklahoma Sooner. Not really a good cram course to learn about insurance but just pass the test with these keyword combinations

Yeah Ive been hearing a lot of good things about the cram course....One thing that makes me mad though is the company I work for sells workers comp to small business and there is only like 1 chapter on workers comp! Thanks for the reply

I feel your pain. I have to take a MS exam today. All trick question word problems where you "select all that apply." Ugh. I hope the insurance exam is more straightforward... but I wouldn't count on it!.

There are so many trick practice questions on the practice tests it isnt even funny....I hope the real exam is more straight forward!

Good luck nicole!

I bloody FLUNKED! I never flunk MS exams. Heck, I've never flunked any exam! *sigh* I pulled a really bad exam. It happens...

.... just not to ME. Arrrrgh!

Yeah, I'm not handling this well. A wee dram of Glenmorangie is in order this evening. I think I have just one nip of the 15 year Maderia left.

i took the life/health insurance licensing test in OK a few years ago. I took one of the "day and a half cram classes" and then took the test the next day. Cram class on Wed/Thur test on Fri. promptly forgot "the rules" over the weekend and then spent the next 6 months learning how the industry REALLY works.

Now i'm looking at teaching NASD classes (series 7,63,etc) but can't find any place locally that has live classes much less places that need teachers.

derek

Yeah Im going to schedule to my test so that I can take a cram course right before it....Insurance courses are so draining!

Sorry to hear Nicole! Good call on breaking that good stuff out....Better not leave that out I might comeover and steal it!

you think insurance courses are draining? try the securities side... series 7, 63, 65, and 24 under my belt now... studying for the 53 next...

ugh... so much law... so many regulations...

derek

oh yeah... on reefing topics... my tank is almost back to normal... after a cross country move, i lost almost all of my corals. i had a massive amonia spike, but nitrates are still under control - under 12 ppm.

it's been about a month, so i think i'm in the clear. it's just time to rebuild my stock of corals.

derek
