Good morning all,

It is with a heavy heart that I post this. We are looking to re-home Enzo, our pure-bred "blue" Cane Corse.

He was born Easter weekend 2013, was the pick of the litter, and currently weighs 110 pounds. At one year old, he is fully house broken, walks well on a leash, sits on command, and is learning lay down. He plays fetch, is kind, gentle, great with our other two dogs and is awesome with the kids. He IS the perfect dog. The only issue we have us that he sheds. Less than a lab, but more that we can live with. I don't want him to be an outside dog and would prefer to find a new home for him were he can be happy and spend part of his time indoors. At the moment I have over $5,000.00 invested in the dog (his cost, ears, dew claws, neuter, all shots, vets, etc...). I am not asking for any money, just that he go to the right home!

If you think he would be a good for for you and your family, please PM me.

What are you feeding the dog? I had a boxer mix that shed like crazy. I would run my hand over his coat and came up with about a handful of fur. I switched the dogs food to honest kitchen. Its gluten feee grain free everything free of the crap that goes into most dog foods. Well after I switched, he stopped shedding almost completely. It was like a 95% improvement. Its like our tanks we don't skimp y skimp on the dogs food. Give it a try. You'll be impressed than you won't have to lose your precious enzo. Its just a suggestion. I tried everything with my boxer mix and was about to give up than found this and my life was saved!

I have been desperately trying everything. For the past few months we have been 100% raw, supplemented with salmon oil, blueberries, green beans, fish, etc. I assure you, no skimping. Monthly food bill is well over $300.00. Will be purchasing honest kitchen today. The thought of loosing him is literally breaking
my heart. Thank you so much!

I thought I had seen something...but kids were playing with my phone while I was looking at sprinkler system and must have removed it. Can you text again :)

Just lay some black tile in the house:)

Our goldens shed a bit, but our floor is the same color as their hair....win win. Seriously though, hope you figure it out:)

FYI I would make sure you get the 100% grain and gluten free... I know "FORCE" is Chicken and is 100% grain free and gluten free.
"KEEN" is Chicken and has oatmeal and low gluten.
"Thrive" is Turkey and has quinoa and is gluten free

So, I would try Force. It would be the best bet for ya! Its has to be rehydrated at a ratio os 1.5 water : 1 food. I hope it works for you! I know I can't get rid of pets, I am too much of an animal lover!

Buy a roomba :) We have 2 of them and our floors are never full of hair and we have a boxer

I don't mean to be rude, but you've had this dog for a year and you are thinking about getting rid of him cause he sheds!?!!

Sorry to hear that you are having these issue. How does the shedding compare to the Dogo? I'm only asking because my Dogo shed like crazy so I'm just trying to an idea.

Having similar problem with my bulldog the hair is everywhere!! Clothes, car, floor, couch.. Drives me crazy but I just clean more often.. Any brush that'll be good to use ?

You aren't being rude. Truth is that his father was not a heavy shedder, nor was his mom. I spent 2-years waiting for the pair to breed and then was with the puppies every week they were alive until we made our pick. This decision has come after many attempts at alternative approaches (furminator, special shampoos, changes in diet, supplementation, etc...). It is not a decision that came lightly and with the info shared above, may not come to fruition.

I wouldn't have given up day one. Not sure when you expect would have been reasonable to take this step, given that we are potentially letting go of a member of our family.

Thank you for your concern.

I thought the same thing, but maybe its not his decision.....:worried2:

It is MY decision. Actually, wife has been incredibly supportive and has worked hard to help with the issue (brushing Enzo, sweeping, vacuuming and mopping the house once or twice a day). And this will be very hard on the children, which has also made it a far more difficult decision.

Trust me, my wife is far better than I deserve.
