OT: looking for a home for our Cane Corso

Mom was solid black (no white at all). Dad had exact coloration, except with brindle.

Love the avatar, she is a beautiful dog. Met a rehab therapist locally who owns one of her offspring.

Can you pm me the pedigree? I can do some research for you.
some lines are prone to skin issues and allergies.
also is his coat smooth with lots of undercoat or is it wire like and stiff with very little undercoat

Update. I have two very interested parties. Both appear to be very appropriate homes. I am going to attempt another diet change as suggested above to see of the situation improves. If so, Enzo will live out his days with us. If we are not successful, I will reach out to the two parties, in order of interest expressed, to determine if the interest still exists.

Please keep the suggestions coming if not addressed above. We need all the help we can get.

Sorry to hear that you are having these issue. How does the shedding compare to the Dogo? I'm only asking because my Dogo shed like crazy so I'm just trying to an idea.

Our Dogo (Dante) sheds VERY little, only at seasons change. Otherwise it is minimal. Also, Dante's hairs are very short. It is a significant differences between the two. If his shedding were like Dante's, there would be no issue.

Sure. I will dig it up from our files. Father was a product of Roman Cane Corso, and mother was a product of Scandifio Cane Corso. I believe another the be very good lines.

I wish you luck stylo with the diet change. It was the best thing I did for my dog. It also helped my golden with hot spots. I know my dachsaund/cavalier mix is allergic to beef. You might want to look into food allergies causing a dermatitis issue increasing the amount of shedding. If you send me a PM. With specifics on what you have done. I can run it by my friend and his wife. They are both vets

Well idk what to say exactly bc I haven't owned a dog in years although my mom and grandma do. I did have a cat that never shed. Diet is very important as well as gluten free. There's us huge difference when I switched from normal cat food to a holistic food and it was actually cheaper bc she ate less and the bag last for like 2 months. GL with whatever happens. Pretty dog Btw.

The coat is coarse and thick.

Have your vet check Thyroid levels

Hypothyroidism (which affects the thyroid gland) or Cushing's disease (which affects the pituitary gland) can result in excessive shedding in dogs. Since hormonal imbalances pose potentially serious health risks, your veterinarian might recommend either hormone therapy or surgery as options.

I have tried in this order, natural balance, blue buffalo, candidate, call of the wild, and most recently 100% raw with supplementation. .

Brings up a solid point. However hair loss in humans y o u look at hyperthyroidism. Excessive growth would make me think hypo more. However more growth more shed. Either way good point. Have you noticed any significant weight loss or the fact that the dog can't tack on weight despite a heavy diet. Also have you noticed If he's had more loose or diarrhea like stools. These are common symptoms of hyperthyroidism in humans. You justvcant ask heat or cold intolerance to a dog.

I haven't noticed any symptoms related to weight or loose stools. That said, I am making a vet appointment tomorrow to for blood work.

Thanks again,
